It IS A Choice
Sep 11th, 2008 by maat45
As human beings we are privileged to be able to make choices through every step of this journey we call life. Each will have our own reason for the choices we make, no matter in what sphere. Today, in our country...and many others for while Sept. 11 tragedy happened on our soil the World Trade Centres were peopled and staffed by many nationalities...mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, sons, daughters, nieces, nephews, friends belonging to and loved by someone....thousands upon thousands remember and relive the horror of that day. And we make a choice in how we live through it, live with it, deal with life after the fact and relate to others.
Long before Sept. 11...from childhood actually...I guess I made my choice or perhaps it was made for or through me by another source. No matter...I choose peace, I am and always have been a pacifist. I'm not an activist, I don't parade, demonstrate, scream or shout it to the rooftops but I don't hide it. The only way I know or can be is live my life according to my belief, my choice. Maybe, just maybe that can plant a seed. Certainly, it often plants ridicule more...and that's okay, I have no problem with that. As Ghandi said "Be the change you want to see in the world" and I try. Today, this link came through my mailbox. I've subscribed to the website following for some years and always look forward to the messages, the inspiration forthcoming. Please take a look and, no matter what your choice is...peace to you and yours.
