Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads, Daddies, Pops, Grandpas. Papas; to the Step-Dads, uncles, brothers, friends who step up for the kids when “Dad” isn’t there…the ones who take over when Dad decided to move on and leave the kids and wife behind; for the Dads serving in the military away from home today..his kids wishing they could spend the day with him, for Dads whose lives have been taken, leaving their children bereft. For the mothers who, for any of the above reasons take on the roles of both mother AND father, around the home, with the children, as the breadwinner and fixer-of-all-things.
I’m sure we have all known terrific “Dads”…be they biological, adoptive, or one of the many who choose to be ‘Dad’ to a child without. Bless them all for being a loving, important part of a child’s life, learning and growth and may you all have a wonderful celebration today. Above all, may the children who are privileged to have you in their lives honour you well.
For those of us a little too old to still have our Dads with us…remember, enjoy and share the memories of the years we did.
