I honestly don’t understand the problem his State kinfolks have with Biden. Must admit, like you PupsDad, at times he sounds pretty convincing but I have to stick with the Libs (that would be Libertarian) and so far it would seem most of the country thinks they are…what? Too radical? Kooks? I certainly don’t agree with all of their policies but, for the most part, seems like a good way of living…simpler, not at all unlike following The Golden Rule. Wouldn’t you think if we all could do that how much big govt. would we need or complex…and often ludicrous…justice system? Then again, I can’t deny being an idealist.

As to the upcoming elections…and being one who has abstained (as opposed to being lazy or disinterested) from voting in recent years…I’m just not certain I’ll vote in this one either. Others tell me to just vote for “the lesser of two evils” but for me that resolves nothing. Lesser of two evils is what, exactly…still “evil” surely. Voting is following my beliefs, my heart and my integrity so if it seems each is lacking in what I expect or hope for in the candidates on offer how can I? Guess it’s wait and see.

Maturity does change our views on life, hopefully for the better.
I feel the eyes are the window to one’s soul, and hair is a woman’s crowning glory.
I was just curious when reading your poem.

Good Post, Maat. I made the comment to you the other day that I don’t see anyone in either party emerging as a forerunner in this 08 race, not as defined as in years past, and you indicated that you haven’t seen anyone in many years stand out from the crowd. In rethinking my comment, I have to agree somewhat, because if we base our notions on the fact that it is, “business as usual”, yes, I think we haven’t seen any originality in decades. The ‘bigger’ picture today is that “business as usual” has extended into the philosophies of our first black and female candidate, and I believe the problem will be that people confuse the ‘novelty’ of having these candidates on the ballot with change for the better. To me it is business and politics as usual, just that this time around, a black man and female are touting it in the mix.

I’m a Republican, and as I further mentioned to Maat, Sen. Biden started to look good to me a couple of weeks ago, just in terms of experience on national and international fronts. Unfortunately his national recognition is absent and his hometown image is less than grand (which I could never understand).

I will miss his further participation in the race, more so since no one in my party of choice is adding anything but well crafted sound bites.
